This month’s chakra is the Throat Chakra, also knows as Vishuddha. This chakra moves us into the first of our upper three chakras which are the spiritual and metaphysical energy centers. It makes sense that this is the energy center of speech and communication. But did you know it is also linked to our integrity and morals? This is the energy center that helps us hear our own voice. Often, it is the still small voice that only whispers, but we can hear it, nonetheless.
This chakra holds the sum of our life experiences with regard to voice, expression, and truth. Many find that this chakra to be especially complicated because they were silenced or repressed in childhood. For many of us, being the “perfect child” is someone who speaks only when spoken to. Or you lived in a house where children were to be seen and not heard. If you experience this, you now have an opportunity to heal the silenced child within whose voice was not welcomed, sought, or appreciated.
It is in this chakra that we learn about our personal power, as it lies in our thoughts and attitudes. It is the center of our choice and consequence. When we understand the energetic consequence of our thoughts and beliefs, along with our actions, we become honest with ourselves to a new degree. Genuine and complete healing requires honesty with ourselves. Our inability to be honest obstructs our healing and seriously impacts our ability to forgive.
This chakra is obviously located at the throat. The color associated with this chakra is light blue.
